PARK RUN or WALK - OCTOBER 2024

The Funakoshi Gichin Cup (JKA World Champs) will be held in October 2024. We have 10 members in the team that will represent SA JKA at the event. The cost for each competitor will be around R45k. This is a lot of money for all, and in particular for several of our financially disadvantaged members. Therefore we will be hosting several fund raisers to make their participation possible. We are urging our karate family to get involved to make these competitors dreams come true and to send the strongest possible SA Team to the championship.

We wish to make the event as safe as possible, so participants, spectators and helpers are asked to take care about the following:

• Please be considerate to the park and other park users at all times.
• Children under the age of eleven must be accompanied (within arm's reach) throughout the event by a parent, guardian or appropriate adult of the parent's choice.
• Please arrive by foot, by pedal-power or by public transport if you can - your efforts help to reduce our impact on the park and the planet.
• Take care near roads and car parks – some vehicles drive very quickly. Please congregate away from the cars and be careful in particular if you have children. If you’re driving to the event, please drive carefully even if you’re late!
• Take care on uneven surfaces – whether on grass or on tarmac.
