Individual Championship
VERY IMPORTANT:
We will be doing the drawsheets prior to the competition. Entries (names and entry fees) MUST BE IN BY THE CLOSING DATE. This means that we can only base draws on ages and belt levels of competitors. Size/height will not be factored into the draws No discussion will be entered into in this regard and late entries will not be accepted. Venue: Bracken Park Community Hall, 229 Hennie Alberts St, Albertsdal, Alberton Closing Date: 4 September 2022. No late entries will be accepted. |
Entry Fees:
Please note the following general information:
- Individual entries - R350 for Kata or Kumite or both (not R175 per division).
- There will be no charge for spectators so we invite you to bring the family along to enjoy this friendly tournament with us. There will be a tuck-shop available for refreshments – please support this.
- All entry fees all payable strictly by cash and must be returned in the pre-printed envelopes. These are available from your dojo head and must be returned to them BEFORE the closing date.
- One envelope per person for individual entries.
Please note the following general information:
- JKA Regulation mitts & gumguards are compulsory. Students must have their own. They will not be permitted to share with other students as this slows down the tournament. Mitts and gumguards will be on sale on the day.
- JKA Kumite rules will apply with different fighting times for the different ages. Repercharge system will be used throughout in kata and kumite.

Green to Red Heian Nidan to Tekki Shodan
Youth Novice (16-18yrs), Senior and Veteran Novice
White to Orange Heian Shodan to Tekki Shodan
Green to Red Heian Nidan to Tekki Shodan
Junior Elite: (up to 15yrs)
Nominated - Heians to finals
Finals - Choice of Bassai Group
Youth (16-18yrs), Senior and Veteran Elite: (up to 16-18yrs)
Round 1: Nominated Heians
Round 2: Bassai Nominated for black belts/Bassai group choice for brown belts
Round 3: Bassai Choice/Bassai group choice for brown belts
Finals: Free choice
Katas may be repeated in all divisions

Open Team Championship
Entry Info:
- For Brown and Black belts - 15yrs and older
- Karate Syndicate members: No charge. Must be entered individual champs though.
- Non-Karate Syndicate members: R100-00 per person per division
- Unison kata will be judged on points system. Mixed gender teams allowed.
- Unison Kata: 3 per team; Team Kumite: 3 men, 2 ladies
- Individual team kumite entries may be consolidated to make up a team or to fill other teams
